In order to serve you better, I’m expanding the real. kind. apothecary to offer a wider range of personal care, gifts, and houseware items.
As I seek partners, I look for women who handcraft their creations, share our progressive values, and are as local as possible. If you know of anyone who fits this, and who creates anything you’d like to see in the shoppe, please leave a comment below!
Today, in the first stage of the real. kind. apothecary expansion, I am pleased to unveil 2 new product lines: soap and candles. Please welcome the newest maker members of our coven, Olivia and Andrea. Let’s get to know them.
Soap
Olivia Mai of Floristan Soaps is a California teacher and young mom who uses melted snow from her surrounding Sierra Nevadas to hand-craft palm-free soaps with pure essential oils.
In 2019, Olivia learned that she had stage 3 breast cancer. At first, she continued teaching through her treatments, but soon realized she couldn't work any longer.
It was through having to give up teaching, learning her son had autism, and taking care of her family that she realized her passion of making artisan soaps could make others out there in similar situations look, smell and FEEL beautiful! Olivia also boasts zero-waste manufacturing practices and packaging.
I'm so honored to have her on my team. My own mother is entering her 6th year of chemo for Stage 4 breast cancer, so Olivia and her unique soaps are near and dear to my heart. Check out her creations here.
Candles
Andrea Jacques of Essentials Northwest is a free-spirit indie entrepreneur based in Washington. She adheres to the principles of creating quality products, using simple ingredients, with a beautifully clean design. Her sleek, phthalate-free candles evoke scents of sea, sand, forest, and gardens.
Andrea is a creative spirit who always knew she wanted to be her own boss. From woodworking to cake-decorating to making jewelry, she's done it all. It wasn't until she stumbled upon making candles that something clicked. She knew this was her magical "It" when every time she created a candle, she felt invigorated.
Andrea uses pure soy wax, from soy grown right here in the US, and phthalate-free oils with scents based in nature. Explore her beautiful works here.
I’m honored to work with these two goddesses, and thrilled to introduce you to their products. I have more news up my sleeve that I think you're going to be very, very happy about in coming weeks. Keep your eye on the blog, or subscribe to my newsletter, The Scroll, to be the first to know about this new growth.
With love and light,
Susannah
