I’ve been keeping quiet lately about my rebranding process, and I’m ready to share some of what’s been going on in the shadows at real. kind. It’s been a hell of a summer, and I never dreamed I’d be where I am.

The first 2 months of summer saw me take a break from manufacturing, and jump head first into an intensive branding course. I thought I might come away with a pretty new logo, maybe a slightly different color palette. (Insert spell of derisive laughter here.) In the end, this course had me tear my company back to its proverbial studs.

I had absolutely no idea that this deep-dive would lead me to embrace my closet spirituality and go full pagan. Everything except my name and my products changed. I went from a vanilla, “all-natural, handmade skin care” Stepford thing to a left-leaning, manifesto-writing business owner, and goddam it feels good.

Leading a viable company while so loudly proclaiming my progressive values is a dream come true. I have never been happier or more comfortable in my skin or in my life. I know, deep down at a cellular level, that I’m doing the right thing.

What's next

A new logo is in the works, and you’ll be among the first ones to see it. After that, it’ll be snazzy new professionally printed labels and then product photography. real. kind. is growing up right before your eyes!

While I revamp all my visuals, I’m also I just started another intensive course on wholesaling. (Wholesaling is making and selling a product to retail stores, who then sell it to you, the customer.) My goal is to be on local shelves by next Spring (!!!!). Of course I’ll have products available on my website, as well.
